Married Priests?

Married Eastern Rite Roman Catholic Priest and Family

The Roman Catholic Church has always had married priests, especially in various Eastern Uniate Rites. In the Latin Rite there have been married priests throughout the centuries; however, the practice has not been consistent or recent for several centuries.

It is important to note that there is nothing of the nature of Matrimony nor Priesthood that makes them mutually exclusive. Had that been the case, St. Peter could not have been called by Our Lord and the first nine or so Popes would have also been excluded.
